What makes it 56% Kids-Friendly: Short pigeon-feeding, a quick church ‘scavenger hunt,’ and nearby National Garden keep children engaged, but no playground, toilets, or interactive exhibits on site limit stay length.
Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for pigeon feeding, quick church visits, and a short museum stop without tiring kids.
Feed the pigeons:
Let kids scatter birdseed around the central fountain.
Tip: Bring cereal or birdseed packets to keep costs low and feed early when pigeons gather.
Church scavenger hunt:
Explore Little Metropolis and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Tip: Prepare a simple list (find a mosaic, a silver icon) to keep kids engaged in 10-minute stops.
Visit Maria Callas Museum:
Use the family ticket for interactive exhibits just off the square.
Tip: Book tickets online to skip the line and use the museum restrooms before returning to the square.
Walk to the National Garden:
Enjoy playgrounds, a duck pond, and shaded paths 300 m away.
Tip: Plan this after the square visit to let kids run and relax in open play areas.

I adored it and beautiful to visit it. In center of Piraeus after you come back from Agiena Island.

This is such a beautiful square, with a wonderful church and chapel being situated on the site. It comes with shady areas to sit and a place to fill water.

You have to come and sit here. I spent hours people watching, had an education, and the most amazing eye-opening experience! Hands down one of the best squares in the world. I could spend every day in this magical place!

Nice church with a awesome square right in front of it. I would suggest going in the morning because it is less crowded and you can sit under the trees. We went around 10 am and drank a coffee which was very nice.
In summer, visit in late afternoon for cooler shade under plane trees. Around Christmas, look for carolers and festive lights at the cathedral.
