The Ellinikon Experience Park (couple trip)

A great place not only for kids but for the whole family! Perfect spot for a relaxing picnic. The dancing fountain is truly amazing, and the zen garden is definitely worth a visit. The only downside is that it’s a bit hard to reach without a car, but totally worth the effort.

It's a glimpse to the future, but it is not implemented the way it should. There should be people showing and explaining things at all the spots. Not one or at the most two people, trying to fill in the gaps. The children playground is great with games ahead of everything I've seen in Greece. The place should have a huge cafeteria with a view to the sea.

Staying in downtown Athens, it was a trek to get to Ellinikon Experience Park. We took the metro to the end of the line and walked 20 minutes there and back. It was doable, but a lot of walking for little kids in the summer heat. Once we arrived, we spent some time learning about the development on the site of the old airport. An amazing experience, honestly it's something that someone should visit and see how the project is set to expand on its development making the whole area entering the spotlight!!! Lots of parks, lakes, beach resorts, malls and casinos are going to be build in the next years and the virtual tour gets you so excited on what's to come.
