Hôtel le Royal Lyon - MGallery (solo trip)

Everything was perfect! The location is very central, within walking distance of the attractions and shopping streets. We loved the design of the hotel - the lobby, the corridors, the room and the restaurant. The room is spacious, the bed was huge and comfortable. All the time we were surrounded by staff members who gave perfect service. We would love to come back!

We were upgraded at check-in so I can't speak to the ordinary rooms but our corner suite was stunningly beautiful and spacious. We walked in the room and immediately both said, "Wow!" The hotel is centrally located and provides easy access to the main attractions and landmarks of Lyon. The service provided by all the employees was excellent . On the other hand I can’t say the same for the quality of the bedding or cleanliness of the rooms. I don’t understand why it’s a 5 star hotel. To my view it’s more like a 3 star. General Manager doing a great job. The young staff are learning and very attentive. Could not ask for more. The hotel has old world charm and is beautifully appointed. The location is the best in Lyon in Bellecour. A wonderful evening walk to the bouchons and streets of Old Lyon. Valet parking. Great location, great building, great staff.

My wife and I stayed here in August. The staff were absolutely wonderful - the epitome of courtesy, service, friendliness. The location is superb for walking to all major attractions in Lyon.
