What makes it 81% Baby-Friendly: Infants pay nothing and the cloakroom lends prams; level-1, 2 and –1 toilets house change tables and a discrete nursing spot, but long exhibit routes and crowds may still over-stimulate some babies.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: This gives time to see main exhibits and take breaks for baby feeds and naps.
Pram Loan & Changing Stations:
Borrow a stroller at the cloakroom and use changing tables on levels -1, 1 & 2.
Tip: Ask a welcome desk agent for stroller loan on arrival to avoid carrying your own.
Baby Sensory Workshops:
Join short sessions of songs, stories and tactile play for babies under 2.
Tip: Check the museum calendar online and book slots early; spaces fill fast on weekends.
Stroller-Friendly Architecture Tour:
Explore the entrance hall, Gravity Well walkway, and rooftop terrace with minimal walking.
Tip: Follow the central walkway; elevators connect each level for easy stroller access.
Riverside Garden Stroll:
Walk outside behind the museum for fresh air and scenic river views with your baby.
Tip: Visit in the morning for quieter paths and bring a small blanket for a riverside rest.
In summer, visit early to enjoy the shaded garden and cool galleries. In winter, plan indoor workshops and use the quiet feeding room on level 2.

the building is unique, i love the futuristic vibe. also, there are a lot of “visually intense” exhibitions inside, each one with a different idea. u get free entry if u are a student

A very detailed and informative anthropology and natural history museum with four permanent exhibits and equally interesting temporary exhibits. All information is thoughtfully displayed in French and English via a range of media types. It is also worth going to see the architecture of the building. Well worth a visit when in Lyon!

This might be one of the best modern museums I went to, really! It's very complete and I think kids would love it- there were a lot of enthusiastic ones when we went, at least. Their permanent expositions are very well detailed and easy to navigate, they're mostly about natural history, anthropology and culture, not much art history, or at least I didn't find one. Everything has french and english...

This is a very well done Natural History Museum. Pe visited when there was a special exhibition on sleep and dreams which was very interesting. The Architecture is stunning how many interior is delightful. Don't forget to go to the top floor and have a cafe. Underground floor is you exit there is a high-end restaurant set off by several large pools water.

Many interesting exhibitions inside, awesome building outside. The park area needs a little maintenance and upkeep, but everything else is great! The exhibitions were varied and interesting, I can see myself going back whenever new ones open up. I did expect a little more when it came to anthropological exhibitions. But maybe I missed that part, couldn't finish the whole thing in one afternoon.
