What makes it 87% Solo-Friendly: The 5 km loop, free orienteering map, bird-rich ponds and hammock zones let a solo guest spend hours safely; staff at the kiosk and a château café add support, but evening buses are sparse.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for solo trip: Gives time for a fitness loop, garden visit, wildlife spotting and a coffee break
Run a marked fitness loop:
Follow the 3 km or 5 km circuit through meadows and woods
Tip: Pick up the free trail map at the Information Point and start early for cooler temps
Try the permanent orienteering course:
Test your navigation on a varied-terrain course using a free map
Tip: Ask staff at the kiosk for the orienteering map and compass instructions
Spot wildlife by the ponds:
Look for herons, songbirds and small mammals at dawn or dusk
Tip: Stay quiet and move slowly along the water’s edge for best views
Relax in a silence zone:
Use hammocks or deckchairs in one of four quiet areas
Tip: Bring a yoga mat or book and enjoy a mindful break
Enjoy a café snack at the château:
Order a hot drink or light pastry in the castle’s café
Tip: Check closing time (usually 18:00) to avoid missing the last order

It's a good place for a little or long walk. You can take your pets there but have to keep them on a leash for safety mesures. Just be careful because it's a famous spot, by Sundays there can be a lot of people....
Grey Ant
Very nice park for walking, runing and riding bikes.

In spring, visit late May for heritage roses in bloom. In summer, check the Métropole de Lyon calendar for free open-air events. In autumn, the red-oak alleys turn vibrant. Winters are quiet—bring layers against wind.
