What makes it 91% Kids-Friendly: Kids up to 12 can splash on 3 free lifeguarded beaches, climb Castor playground and share big family canoes; however parents must constantly supervise water and pay extras for L’Atol’ zone.
Why 3–4 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A half-day lets families swim, play, paddle, and picnic without tiring younger children.
Swim and build sandcastles:
Head to one of the four supervised beaches on Lac des Eaux Bleues for safe water play.
Tip: Arrive by 10 AM to grab a shaded spot and bring buckets and spades.
Play at Castor playground:
Enjoy wooden structures, a zip-line and trampolines at the free 24 h play area.
Tip: Visit mid-morning to avoid peak crowds and let kids explore freely.
Family canoe ride:
Rent a Dag Canadia canoe for 2 adults and 2 kids for an hour on the lake.
Tip: Put life jackets on first, then launch from the rental base near L’îloz’.
Lakeside picnic:
Use the free picnic tables by L’îloz’ gardens for lunch with a view.
Tip: Pack a shade umbrella and set up under the trees to stay cool.
Summer get there before 11 AM to secure shade. Spring blooms line trails. Autumn brings quiet birdwatching and cooler swims.

Grand Parc Miribel Jonage is a great place to hang out with friends. It has lots of space to walk, run, or just relax by the lake. Perfect for a peaceful break or a fun day outdoors.

Good lake, clean and organized, but the swimming place is a little small and crowded. The price is a little high compared to other similar places, 5 euros the entry after 17h30, so probably in the morning it would have been more…

Beautiful parc full of trails for cycling, walking and running. There are many places to picnic and bbq, with swimming and sunbathing next to the water. We had lunch at La Brasserie then did a 12km hike around the circumference of the lake (which is pretty flat). Great place for “free fun” with the kids.
