Building is the best part of the whole experience. Exhibition itself is underwhelming, scarce and poorly displayed with modern pieces put in the same hall with more classic work. Most paintings are from 1940-2018.

ٰChina Art Museum (China Art Palace): Shanghai's "Crown of the East" The China Art Museum (Chénghuá Yìshù Gōng) in Shanghai is an incredible place—it’s both a temple of modern Chinese art and a massive, iconic piece of architecture. Identity and Location The Building Itself: The museum is housed in what was the China Pavilion for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. Its dramatic, towering red structure,...

Good for those who love paintings (chinese painting, oil painting, woodprinting etc) can spend approx 3~4hrs viewing all the art pieces. There was a Davinci VR experience (hum........ dont think the VR game/storyline has any historically accuracy...its really just for fun/ experience). Can try with old and young folks.

The China Art Museum in Shanghai impressed immediately with its architecture. The inverted red pyramid is brilliant—bold, monumental, and unmistakably iconic. Yet once inside, the experience became more uneven. The sheer scale of the galleries was undeniable, but the exhibits themselves felt so-so. There were highlights—pieces of historical importance and contemporary works—but curation often lea...

It has now been turned into a permanent art museum, together with a few other Expo structures such as the Expo Avenue, now with a mall underneath. The museum is an impressive structure, the centre piece exhibit is a long projected mural displaying the digitised Qingming River Fe...
