Days Inn by Wyndham Victoria Uptown (couple trip)

This hotel is deceptively wonderful for the location and price. It has not really been “modernized” — but the a/c was super cold for our good night’s sleep, the beds/mattresses/sheets were all great. The staff was very welcoming and helpful upon check in. We were only there 1 night, but it was a great night’s stay.

This hotel is a short drive into downtown Victoria. Our room was spacious and clean. Beds were very comfortable and the AC worked perfectly. The room had a nice kitchenette including an apartment size fridge and stove, microwave. There also is a sink and some utensils for eating. The woman at the front desk was very pleasant and friendly. The floors in our room were disgusting. I don't expect hotel floors to be spotless, but the sidewalk is probably cleaner than the floor in the room we stayed in. After seeing Housekeeping clean another room in our hallway, I *do not* blame them at all for the state of our room. Stayed at the Days Inn Uptown Victoria and was seriously impressed. The location is perfect—close to downtown but far enough for quiet evenings. It’s a quick drive or easy bike ride into the city, and the Galloping Goose Trail is right nearby if you like to walk or run. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Very underwhelming experience at this hotel. To begin with, they don't warn you ahead of time that there is no elevator, that's mentioned when you check in. So if you have a room on the top floor like I did, be prepared for lots of stairs. The room itself was not great, the bed was hard and uncomfortable and the shower kept alternating from scolding hot to freezing cold. The only saving grace was ...
