What makes it 72% Baby-Friendly: Mobi-Mat lets strollers reach the water and flat paths invite pram walks, yet baby change tables and nursing areas are uncertain, shade is limited and cold water limits infant swims.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a relaxed stroller stroll, picnic and breaks without overtiring your baby.
Seawall stroller walk:
Follow the firm, flat path beside the beach.
Tip: Start at Gilford Street for direct access and less crowd.
Use the Mobi-Mat pathway:
Roll your stroller onto the sand via a non-slip mat.
Tip: Locate the mat near the main bathhouse for easiest access.
Picnic by the water:
Spread a blanket at the sand’s edge.
Tip: Bring a low sunshade and comfortable ground pad for baby.
Photo with public art:
Capture family shots at the Inukshuk or “A-maze-ing Laughter.”
Tip: These statues are a short push from Beach Ave on smooth sidewalks.
Visit the bathhouse:
Use the indoor change rooms and toilets.
Tip: Carry a portable change pad; baby tables may not always be stocked.

⛱️ Beautiful and lively beach located in the heart of Vancouver. Clean sand, calm waves, and amazing sunset views. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, and the atmosphere is perfect for walking or relaxing with friends. Easy to reach by public transport, and there’s convenient parking close to the beach.

Visited on a cloudy, chilly Friday afternoon. Free parking was tricky to find, but Indigo parking was convenient and close by. Sitting on a log, breathing in the sea breeze — what more could you ask for? Without the usual sunny-day crowds, it was peaceful enough to really hear the waves and seagulls.

Love this place!!! A beach by the city. Feels free, has a great, relaxed vibe. Would be 5 star but there's quite a few people ignoring the beach rules that help keep it peaceful and 'everyone- friendly.'

English Bay is one of Vancouver’s best spots to relax and take in stunning views! The beach is clean, the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking, and there are plenty of nearby cafes and restaurants to enjoy. It’s perfect for a stroll, a swim, or just sitting by the water. A must-visit if you want to experience the beauty of Vancouver’s waterfront!

English Bay. A fantastic view of the bay, the Pacific ocean, and False Creek with recreational boats moored and going back and forth along with ship / freighters waiting to load and unload. What a view at anytime of the day but especially spectacular as the sun sets. Added to this is the delicious ice cream served on the beach by: "Rain Of Shine ICE CREAM" Great ice cream, great crew!
Mobi-Mat, water wheelchairs and lifeguards run late May–early September. In winter, check Vancouver Parks for pathway upkeep.
