Positives:

  • Central location: On King Street, it’s a short walk from multiple streetcar stops.
  • Intimate setting: With 2,000 seats you feel close to the stage even in upper levels.

Challenges:

  • Limited single tickets: Rush seats are capped; you must arrive early or they sell out.
  • Long show times: Most musicals run 2–3 hours with one intermission—plan snack breaks.

Saw the Sound of Music and were awestruck. The professionalism of the production was top shelf. The talent was incredible, Broadway worthy. The venue was classically beautiful. The one drawback was the cushions in the seats were a bit uncomfortable after a nearly 3 hour performance. They most likely need to be refreshed after many thousands of performances. The staff were very helpful and courteou...

I visited the Princess of Wales Theatre earlier this year to see The Lion King musical, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The theatre itself is stunning, elegant architecture, beautiful décor, and a design that ensures excellent visibility from almost every seat. I was seated on the ground floor and had a clear, immersive view of the stage, but the balconies also looked well positioned...

The Sound of Music today at the princess of Wales Theatre in live theatre feels timeless—filled with heart, hope, and the magic that only a live performance can deliver. This place is always magical.

A memorable musical 'Lion King' seen here. The energy of perfomers and the host staff was just beyond words. Gathered some beer before show to raise toast. Ice cream vendor came at half break to add to the flavours. Huge seating capacity. Sound system was great. Everything well organised to handle large crowd. Simply loved this place.
