I was doing cross country skiing for the first time. It was an amazing experience. Equipment rentals are cheap. Trails are well managed and most importantly staff is very helpful. Within a km or so, we came across this small but very beautiful valley (video attached).

Wonderful place to enjoy nature without questing beyond the city! Beautiful and with people who are so friendly, good facilities to rent skis or snow shoes are available as is parking.

Neat little family-friendly skiing center. Inexpensive rentals for testing the sport with children.
Trails usually open late December through March. Check daily snow conditions before heading out. Register early for the January torchlight event.
