What makes it 67% Baby-Friendly: Wide flat paths suit strollers and mist can cool a baby, but many stairs to the belvedere, no nursing room or confirmed change table and little shade make longer baby visits harder.
Why 1–2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for a stroller-friendly walk, water play, and rest breaks without overtiring your baby.
Stroll the riverfront paths:
Push your stroller along the wide flat stone walkways with river views.
Tip: Avoid the belvedere stairs, which are not stroller-friendly.
Play at the splash pad:
Let your baby enjoy the gentle mist sprayers and ground-level water jets.
Tip: Stand in lighter mist areas and bring a change of clothes and towel.
Rest on shaded benches:
Use benches near the fountain to sit and watch the river.
Tip: Fill bottles at the drinking fountain and keep your baby hydrated.
Capture skyline photos:
Take family portraits with Château Frontenac and the city walls as backdrop.
Tip: Go early to avoid crowds and get soft morning light.

Place des Canotiers is a beautiful and relaxing spot in the heart of Québec City! The stunning waterfront views of the St. Lawrence River make it a perfect place to unwind or take a stroll. The modern design of the park blends nicely with the historic charm of the Old Port area. There are plenty of seating areas, green spaces, and even interactive water fountains that kids love. It's an ideal plac...

What a nice area to set and relax. The park offers a splash area for kids to play with little ports that blow water vapor out. I visited twice. Once to look at the water and the second time to watch the fireworks. What a great time!!

Grand idea for an open recreational park on the river much liked by tourism-exhausted kids. Bring them down for a run-around! Break for parents and carers too.

You can’t go wrong with a walk by the port passing by Place des Canotiers and finishing at Petit Champlain. It’s wonderful on fall time, when the sun hits the leaves and all you hear is the sound of gratitude.

Lovely park with waterfront view of the St-Lawrence river! This is such a lovely park with great view of Old Quebec as well as the river. It has many sitting options, including hammock chairs and beanbags on the lawn, perfect for relaxing on a sunny day. The small fountain offers a good option for children to play on hot summer days, and the lights on grounds also emit water mist to cool down. ...
Fountains and mist sprayers run May 1–Oct 31. Plan for water play in summer and layers during cooler spring/fall river breezes.
