What makes it 77% Kids-Friendly: Kids ski and snowshoe free, sledding hills are gentle, child-size gear and lessons exist, yet trails are snowy and only basic washrooms are available, so parents must supervise closely.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows families to ski green loops, try snowshoeing and sledding without tiring younger kids.
Family cross-country ski on green trails:
Use the beginner (green-level) loops at Saint-Jean-Chrysostome for an easy ski route.
Tip: Rent kids-size skis at the chalet; kids under 18 ski free; start mid-morning for firm snow.
Snowshoe on easy trails:
Explore the marked easy snowshoe loops through forested paths.
Tip: Bring warm, waterproof boots; rent snowshoes at the chalet before you head out.
Sledding at Saint-Romuald pavilion:
Slide down gentle runs using your own sled or rented tire tubes.
Tip: Arrive on weekends for tube rentals; keep younger children close on the sledding hill.
Jackrabbit youth ski lessons:
Enroll kids in group lessons to learn cross-country ski basics.
Tip: Book lessons online in advance; classes fill up on weekends.

Nice family-friendly place to cross-country ski. I like coming here because of the scenic trails along the Etchemin river and through the woods. I also enjoy the way that a lot of the trails are classic double track, so you can ski side by side.

Great place to do some cross country skiing. Not expensive at all.
Winter (Dec–Mar) offers groomed snow trails; check daily trail status. In fall, use free hiking paths for maple leaf viewing.
