Best Western Plus Gatineau-Ottawa Downtown (couple trip)

This is a nice hotel, good, clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and easily switch between French and English for those who cannot speak French. I was disappointed that no breakfast was available or no in- hotel laundry. In my experience a Best Western Plus would have these additions. Great staff, nice hotel.

I booked the hotel mostly for its location. I’ve used Best Western’s several times but I would not stay here again unless it was the only option. There is no coffee make, kettle, microwave etc in the room although there is a fridge. The bathroom door barely closes as it hits the bathroom vanity, super poorly thought out. The appearance from the carpark says it all. Litter everywhere. The gardens are full of weeds and broken bricks. The entry to the hotel had litter at the door. The foyer is dirty. The lifts had spilled drinks that were not cleaned. The room was wiped over but not clean. The bathroom needed a good scrub, as does the whole place. We stayed here for my husband's birthday and our stay was surprisingly perfect! I was skeptical after reading MANY terrible reviews but our room was great, the view from the balcony also great.
