69%Baby-Friendly

What makes it 69% Baby-Friendly: Babies enter free and strollers fit the elevators and tunnel, but no nursing room and loud Tesla coil or night show may require skipping add-ons, so parents should plan shorter, quiet daytime stops.

Positives:

  • Stroller & Accessibility: The station is fully accessible and welcomes strollers throughout the exhibits and tunnel.
  • Free Baby Admission: Children under 2 enter free, so only adult tickets are needed.
  • Rest & Feeding Spots: Benches are available for breaks and feeding; universal washrooms have change tables.

Challenges:

  • Tunnel Space: Tunnel is narrow; a baby carrier works better than a stroller on the walkway.
  • Lack of Dedicated Nursing Room: No private nursing rooms; use a restroom stall or any quiet corner.
  • Noisy Demos: Skip the Tesla coil demo and night show to avoid loud sounds and flashing lights.

We had a wonderful time going through the power station. Very informative, and entertaining! The elevator down to the tunnel was neat, and the view of the Falls from the end of the tunnel as absolutely amazing!

This a great way to view the falls up close and learn a bit about hydroelectric power. I went on a Sunday in September and did not have to wait in line or buy tickets ahead of time. This museum opened a couple of years ago as the power plant was running until the 2000s. Built in the 1900s with technology pioneered by the inventor Tesla, the history behind the power plant is interesting. The tunnel...

Amazing museum and facility. Visually stunning view from the end of the tunnel. Well worth the admission and amazing history. Thank you Mr Tesla. We went in a Sunday mid morning. Walked right in and got tickets. We walked down from the hill and took the incline back up. With it too.

Amazing station with some incredible displays of electricity at its finest. Niagara Parks Power Station has an incredible view of the Falls at the end of a 600+ meter long tunnel. It’s a great experience being so close to the Falls. The audio tour in the tunnel is very nice and educational, I would highly recommend it.

Awesome! You start with the museum and if you have time, would recommend the audio tour. You learn about the people, history, construction and operation of the plant - don’t have to be totally into science to enjoy but might be a challenge for younger kids. They have a Tesla exhibit through October that is nicely done. The elevator is super cool as the glass window allows you to see the operation ...
