How Kids-Friendly is Lewiston-Queenston Bridge?

60%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 60% Kids-Friendly: Kids can use the park playground, splash pad and easy history trails minutes from the bridge, but long car queues and the lack of on-bridge walk space limit activity during the actual crossing.

Positives:

  • Easy car access and parking: Free parking at Queenston Heights Park and pull-offs under the bridge let you unload kids and gear close to attractions.
  • Complimentary family amenities: Playground, splash pad, and paved trails cost nothing, keeping activities budget-friendly.

Challenges:

  • No pedestrian sidewalk on bridge: Walking on foot is not allowed—families should cross by car or use bikes on the designated lane.
  • Customs wait times: Queue times at the border can vary; long waits may tire young kids.

First, everything is okay for me since the year 2002. However, since Summer in the year 2025 is a tough one to swallow unless I must get some NEXUS pass Identification like card, including an unlocked Nokia Flip Phone alternatives playing safe than sorry. Since I'm a special needs person wants to go to Niagara Falls New York, I cannot wait another three years unless something must change as soon a...

Duty free shopping yes, gas - no. Be aware that the CBSA is accessible after the checkpoint, but the officers are professional and helpful guiding through a regimented process. The team at CBSA was super helpful and while it’s all very official, they were fair and efficient. I will definitely choose this crossing again.

There are a few different options for crossing the border between the United States and Canada. Based on where I was and where I was headed, the Lewiston Queenston Bridge ended up being the most efficient for me to get to Ontario. I understand that this bridge usually has the least congestion compared to the Peace Bridge (bonkers!) or the Whirlpool Bridge (which only accepts drivers with a NEXUS p...

The 2 lanes going from Canada to Usa diverges from the right lane, try to stay on the rightmost lane possible as it will diverge to 5-10 lanes, meanwhile the left lane will be stuck at 1 land until the very end and cost you 1-2 hours more time to travel. Not the fastest border crossing compared to Windsor. Has some good view both sides. One good deal is, you don’t pay toll going from Canada to USA...

We were moving slow across the bridge heading into US and snapped a photo of the border line plaque. Good views! Returning back to Canada, there are dumb-dumb cars that go into the truck lane, which causes a bottleneck over the bridge and delays our truckers, better control and signage is needed! Took about 45mins each way crossing.

When is the best time to visit Lewiston-Queenston Bridge (Niagara Falls, Canada)?

Summer (June–August) opens the splash pad daily; spring trails can be muddy and winter winds on the bridge are strong—dress in layers.
