What makes it 83% Baby-Friendly: Babies can ride strollers on smooth paths and play on ground-level equipment; a portable toilet with changing table exists, yet there are no private nursing rooms and some washrooms close in winter.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for a leisurely stroller loop, playground visit, picnic break, and play at the spray park without rushing a baby’s schedule.
Stroller Loop on Reservoir Path:
Follow the paved, shaded 4 km loop around Glenmore Reservoir.
Tip: Start at the 90 Ave parking lot for easy access and benches every 500 m for feeding or breaks.
Variety Children’s Park Playground:
Inclusive rubber-surfaced play area with toddler swings and sensory panels.
Tip: Use the shaded gazebo next to the playground for quick rests or nursing in semi-privacy.
Quinterra Legacy Garden Instruments:
Ground-level chimes, drums, and xylophones on a soft lawn.
Tip: Bring a picnic blanket so baby can crawl or toddle safely while you explore the instruments.
Picnic Near the Play Areas:
Tables and benches close to washrooms at both the playground and spray park.
Tip: Pack a small cooler with snacks and milk; use the nearby changing table without long walks.

My favourite place to chill on my day off, whether I just want to sit by the water or trek along the path around the perimeter of the reservoir. I have had the opportunity to kayak from here and I recommend it, well done and beautiful 🙏

Not as many trees as the North Glenmore Park. Quite abeautiful riverside walking trail & cycling lane, once you pass the Private Boat Parking area. Follow it and you will reach Heritage Park.

The beautiful scenery is peaceful, and you get to breathe in the fresh air. I walked around the lake and ended up taking over 20,000 steps without even realizing it. It's a fantastic place for social gatherings and for nature lovers.

I like to walk the entire loop, and if you arrive early in the morning it’s super quiet, not busy and the wildlife is very active. Everyone you do end up passing is always super friendly!

Our favorite walking path. It is about 15-16 kilometers if you walk the whole thing. Lots of great views, picnic areas and fishing too. If you go earlier in the day there is a good chance to see wildlife. Lots of photo opportunities. Paths are well maintained and marked for activity for walking and cycling. If you are walking stay on the correct side of the path to avoid run ins with cyclists. Mos...
Spray park runs mid-June to early September; arrive before peak sun for cooler play. In winter, main loops may ice over—check City of Calgary alerts before visiting.
