Hotel the Neufchatel (couple trip)

Staff here were lovely and helpful. I was able to find it easily and having the Aldi close by was so convenient. The beds were really comfortable and heaters worked well. It’s be nice to have a fridge or microwave to store food/reheat but otherwise was great for the price point and location.

Unfortunately, my stay at Hotel Neufchatel was not pleasant, even though the staff was very nice. The bathroom drain in room 41 had an extremely strong and foul smell – so bad that it woke me up during the night. This is a great little hotel in St-Gilles with easy public transport to the centrum. They offer a great check-in service after 10PM which is very practical because late check-ins are rare. Very friendly staff (seriously, I mean I was in many hotels, but here is the best staff I have seen). At the evening they giving away bakery that was left from breakfast (it still tastes good) Rooms are smaller than I have excepted, but clean, well equipped and cozy. It's around 15-20 minutes on foot to Old city, so location is good
