What makes it 66% Kids-Friendly: Bota Kids tours, capped-volume children’s concerts, a public sports court and picnic lawns suit 3–12s, but closed playground, few lockers and basic toilets mean parents must plan extra stops.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: A morning or afternoon lets you join a kids' tour, enjoy the garden and grab snacks without rushing.
Bota Kids programme:
45 min child-friendly exhibition tour + 45 min kids' concert in the Rotonde.
Tip: Book 10:00 or 15:00 slots online; arrive 10 min early to pick seats.
Multisport area on rue du Botanique:
Free outdoor sports courts for basketball, tennis and volleyball.
Tip: Bring balls and court shoes; the area opens even when the gardens close.
Picnic in the botanical garden:
Spread a blanket on wide lawns under shady trees with pond views.
Tip: Pack snacks and a blanket; explore the paths between the parterre and roseraie.
La Cantine du Bota snacks:
Simple finger foods and soft drinks at the café inside the glasshouse.

This place is so breathtaking and it’s so open and it’s really calming and there’s benches everywhere so you can come and just sit down and relax and you would see people that were there on dates. You would see people that were just there to read books in peace and quiet. You would also see people that were just there to just find solitude. It was really beautiful to walk around extremely peaceful...

La Botanique in Brussels is a serene, green oasis with fresh air and stunning city views. Peaceful and beautiful, it’s a must visit and one of the city’s top highlights for nature lover. It was sunny when I visited and was really awesome and bright.

Was expecting the greenhouse to be filled with exotic plants and flowers, but they've been moved to another part of the city...😟 The main building now houses sculptures... However the main gardens were nice and worth a visit and it free....

Beautiful gardens with a great bar inside, amazing drinks, relaxing atmosphere, really friendly staff. Highly recommend if visiting Brussels to get away from the rest of the city.

Nice place to visit. Close to a metro station. Not too crowded. There is a gallery which holds various types of exhibitions. And the weekend I visisted, it had a very creative 3D motion art exhibition and it was wonderful to watch.
April–June offers vibrant iris blooms in the garden; in cooler months, focus on indoor exhibitions and Rotonde shows.
