How Kids-Friendly is Grand-Place of Brussels?

80%Kids-Friendly
View Map

What makes it 80% Kids-Friendly: Kids can follow scavenger hunts, spot guild sculptures, and join simplified Town Hall tours, but dense crowds, hard granite paving, and very limited toilets or play gear reduce comfort.

(from 169,955 reviews)

Positives:

  • Stroller Friendly: The square’s level granite paving makes it easy to push strollers around
  • Family Ticket Savings: Children under 6 enter free and 2-adult+2-child packs offer discounted rates

Challenges:

  • Cobbled Surface: The granite paving can be tough on little feet; bring comfy shoes and carry younger kids if needed
  • Indoor Access Limits: Narrow staircases at Town Hall and City Museum mean strollers must stay at entrance lockers

It’s vibrant during the day, but at night it transforms into something completely different and magical with the lights. I’d recommend visiting twice—once in the morning and once at night—to really enjoy both views. The whole square is so picturesque and a perf...

Around the square, you can see the old guildhalls, which once belonged to different trades such as brewers, butchers, and tailors — each building has its own unique design and charm. What’s even more fascinating is the history behin...
