Henri Salmi (Henkka)
A medieval tower constructed between 1398 and 1401. Part of the city's medieval fortifications. The name comes from that the tower was used for storing gunpowder from the 16th century onward until the 19th century. Nice views to the canals, also nearby is some lovely parks, so even if you can't enter the tower, and only admire it from the outside, it is definitely worthbthe short walk here.

You can’t go inside the tower, and I wish there had been a plaque with more information about it. Still, it’s in a convenient spot to walk by, the scenery is beautiful, and it’s a great place to stop for some photos.

A nice bridge and old tower in the middle of a nice body of water. It was the perfect place to enter the city of Brugge and discover its unique style!

The tower was built in late 14th century as a defensive structure. There used to be a smaller second tower at the opposite side of the bridge, and together they formed the Water Gate. There's also a garden at the bottom of the tower, overlooking the river.
In spring, spot early blooms in Poertorenpark at golden hour. Summer evenings bring longer light for photos. In autumn, enjoy warm foliage hues reflected in the canal. Winter visits reward you with crisp air and clear views.
