Nice local "park" that used to be one a military stronghold. The baracks are reused for local events and associations such as boyscouts and football and other hobby clubs.. Has a proper running circuit and is located in residential area but couple of proper diners/restaurants.

It was used by the military until the late seventies after which it was completely smashed up by vandals (even the swimming pool). It is now a community environment for local clubs such as table tennis, model trains, scouts, athletic clubs etc. You can go in the fort or go for a nice walk around the moa...

Not too much to see. But a nice quiet walk can be completed in the park surrounding. Many people do run at any time of the day and it looks very safe. There are different activities and clubs residing in the rooms of the castle.

When is the best time to visit Fort 2 (Antwerp, Belgium)?

In July–August, visit the Zomerbar summer bar on site for a free bouncy castle and kids disco (Thu–Sun). For outdoor tours (last Saturday at 14:00, except December), book early and dress for cooler weather. Spring brings wildflowers along the moat and autumn shows colorful leaves on the ramparts.
