What makes it 76% Kids-Friendly: Children enter free and can join Family Sunday hands-on tours; lifts and lockers aid parents, yet fragile works, no play zone, and need for constant supervision keep suitability shy of perfect.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time to explore key exhibits and join a family-friendly tour without rushing children.
Private Children’s Art Tour:
Book a 60- or 90-minute private tour with art-making activities.
Tip: Reserve through the Art Education office at least two weeks before your visit; includes free entry for 2 kids and 2 adults.
Self-Guided Pop Art Hunt:
Explore 20 exhibition halls to spot works by Warhol, Lichtenstein, Hirst and more.
Tip: Pick up a free gallery map at reception and ask staff for kid-friendly highlights.
Historic-Modern Photo Stop:
Admire the 1865 neoclassical foyer alongside modern gallery spaces.
Tip: Use the elevators to wheel strollers through all floors and snap photos in the grand stairwell.

Wonderful! It’s always worth a visit and the many temporary exhibitions are often really top notch and well curated. Beautiful building - ideally to spend the whole day

Beautiful building and great exhibitions. It was nice and cool inside. Friendly staff explained well the current exhibition and advised on what to choose. Exhibition upstairs was very informative and children enjoyed it very much😃

It’s really small compared to other museums. There are some interesting creations but not worth it overall. There are 2 floors only, and they are small. The youth ticket was 14€. You can leave your luggage in boxes, you need a 1 or 2€ coin.

I left it speechless and after more than 2 hours. Was so lucky to see Hirst's exhibition! Definitely the best museum of contemporary art I have ever visited.

Wong, Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, Degas paintings in one place – it was honestly such a beautiful experience to see these in flesh, we especially enjoyed the special Wong exhibition. We were also lucky and it wasn't crowded at all so we enjoyed our stay at Albertina so much. 😊
During school holidays, book workshops early; on rainy days enjoy the indoor galleries; in summer arrive before opening to beat midday crowds.
