Parkhotel Brunauer (solo trip)

The hotel does not meet 4* standards. We booked a double room for two people. The room was very small, with no wardrobe space. There was only one nightstand for two beds. Does the second person not need a nightstand? The electrical switch in the room did not work. We paid an additional €23 per person for breakfast, but the food selection was very limited.

Dated and tired hotel. Not dirty or unclean in any way, but could do with some modernisation and a lick of paint just to freshen the whole place up. Salzburg seems an expensive city, so maybe this is why I was slightly disappointed with what we got for our money. Spent 3 nights here. The hotel is dated and reminds me of crossroads in the 70/80’s. Whilst a quiet hotel there are lots of sounds of doors banging in the night. On site restaurant only has 4 options on the menu so can be challenging. It’s a short walk though into town 1.1km, easily done in 20 minutes. Would not be one I would use again.

Hotel is pretty decent. Rooms are of decent size too but very dated. Staff is good. Breakfast is good. Hotel location is a bit of disappointment specially at night. This is one off rest all is good with the hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is 50 years old and showing signs of its age, the website for it is much better than the hotel. The room we had was supposed to be a barrier free room, but we could not get the wheelchair into the toilet or shower room.
