Altstadthotel Weisse Taube (solo trip)

Calling this a 4 star hotel is generous. Rooms had scuff marks all over the walls, bed was not even positioned properly in accordance to the wall, room was incredibly hot, and one bed did not even have an outlet or nightstand. Seriously there are better options.

Pros: Cute, comfortable, well utilized space. Felt more spacious than the sq ft. Bed was great. Pillows were terrible. Location downtown side street was perfect. A fraudulent stay. We booked a premium triple with dividing curtain in December 2024. The photos on Booking matched those on the website and it looked great. It was expensive at 350€ per night but we were in the center of Salzburg. The hotel is substandard to what you’d expect from a 4 star hotel. I stayed here twice in April and May of 2025 and loved it. The location couldn't be any better in the old town, near so many sights. All of the staff are exceptional, especially Marina, and everyone was so polite, kind, and helpful. The prices are excellent, rooms are very clean, and the breakfast is quite good. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I return to Salzburg.

There is no A/C. Avoid rooms 16, 17, 26, 27, 36 & 37- these are closest to the lift, and you will hear the lift motor that sounds like a vacuum cleaner, all day & night. The 7s are the worst because they also face the courtyard, and there is a restaurant kitchen right across. It gets delivery at 5AM. That sound will surely wake you up.
