What makes it 79% Baby-Friendly: Babies ride free on ferries and cable cars, nap in pushchairs on broad promenades and splash on grassy beaches; hotels lend cots, yet most public spots lack diaper tables, so bring a portable mat.
Why 1 day visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for lakeside walks, a cable-car ride and a ferry trip at a relaxed pace with a baby.
St. Gilgen & Strobl promenades:
Wide paved paths along the lake ideal for pushchairs.
Tip: Pause at benches and cafés every few hundred meters for breaks.
Zwölferhorn cable-car ride:
Barrier-free gondola to a 1 522 m summit with panoramic views.
Tip: Book morning slots and confirm stroller space when you buy tickets.
Wolfgangsee ferry hop-on hop-off:
Ferry linking St. Gilgen, Strobl and St. Wolfgang with stroller ramps.
Tip: Use a day-pass ticket and board early to avoid the crowds.
Strobl beach time:
Shallow grassy entry into the lake with a children’s playground.
Tip: Bring a sunshade, water shoes and a portable changing mat.

Has very nice views especially on your way from Salzburg to Galgein . You can take an electric cable car (which we paid 31€ _discounted for students). The view at the top was a bit foggy at that time ,hence we couldn't get the views from the highest point.4 stars koz we missed the views from the top!

One of the biggest lakes in Austria. The place is really beautiful and ideal for walking or chilling out with friends. There are couple of stores available around the place to serve all visitors. Car parkings are available. The weather there are amazing specially now in falls time.

An amazing countryside. Very close to Salzburg if you want just a day trip but well worth spending more than that. There are several quaint towns around the lake… when you imagine sound of music countryside you can think of Wolfgangsee lake and its environs. Not saying this where sound of music was filmed.

A beautiful lake in the heart of nature, surrounded by greenery – the water is cold, but great for swimming.

Personally think this is one of the prettiest lakes in the area with beautiful mountains. Great walking and bike paths around. Definitely recommend taking the cable car up the mountain. Was absolutely beautiful views up and down with the restaurants at the top!
Summer (Jun–Aug) offers calm mornings for smooth cable-car and boat rides. In spring and autumn, pack warm layers as temperatures drop after sunset. Winter cable-car runs on a reduced schedule—check times and dress warmly.
