What makes it 48% Kids-Friendly: Free rock-music workshops for 5-10-year-olds and occasional under-18 free entry make it moderately attractive, yet evening concerts are loud, standing-room only, and no child toilets or quiet zones exist.

Why 2–3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time for a kids’ workshop, quick tour of the bar & garden, and a snack break without rushing.
Rock & Pop Mini-Workshop:
Kids aged 6–10 learn simple rhythms, singing and basic guitar in a real studio.
Tip: Register early via academy@rockhouse.at; bring closed shoes and water bottle.
Rockhouse Bar & Garden:
Chill by lantern-lit tables under vaulted ceilings or in the summer garden.
Tip: Kids can sip soft drinks (€2) while adults try local beers or ice cream.
Under-18 Free-Entry Shows:
Many evening concerts grant free entry for under-18s.
Tip: Check each event’s page for age policies; book adult tickets in advance (€20–30).
Bring Ear Protection:
Concerts and workshops can get loud for little ears.
Tip: Pack or buy noise-canceling ear muffs to keep kids comfortable.

I thought the place was great, 100% friendly, good sound, I don't know whose mistake it was when Cradle Of Filth was playing, but they kept us waiting for a long time while they fixed it...

What can I say, Rockhouse is your go-to place when you are in Salzburg. There’s something going on almost every day so there is always something to watch from concerts to workshops and not only Rock music but literally everything possible so you’ll definitely find something to your taste.

Great concerts and events, however the bar prices are quite high and their standard beer is not very good. Often events are held in the Rockhouse Bar even though the hall would be more fitting. This is a bit annoying because then the bar is very crowded, but in fact the sound is much better in the bar. It's good in the hall, but it's phenomenal in the bar.

Wow. Just wow. Brilliant line up of touring acts and the staff know how to host talent. Looking forward to making a stop next time I'm in Salzburg.
Attend the “Rock The Family” holiday workshop in December for parent–child drum and guitar games. The outdoor garden opens in late spring for warm-weather lounging.
