What makes it 38% Baby-Friendly: A carrier-equipped parent can reach the falls in 15 min, but roots, stones and spray make strollers unsafe. No changing area or shelter exists, so visits with infants are short and weather-dependent.
Note: Plötz Wasserfall is 38% Baby-Friendly. You may want to consider other Baby-Friendly Things to Do in Salzburg for a more suitable experience.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for the 15 min hike, picnic, baby breaks, and rest by the falls
Hike to Plötz Waterfall:
Follow the 1 km forest trail from the parking area to the waterfall
Tip: Use a secure baby carrier and wear sturdy shoes; avoid the trail with a stroller

Tip: Bring a towel and portable change mat; supervise closely
Picnic by the stream:
Use benches near the info boards for a snack break
Tip: Pack easy-to-eat foods and plan baby feeding here

Beautiful waterfall, short walk along the water stream from the main road. Plenty places to sit in the trees shadow and for rest near the water. The parking on the main road is quite small and often is full.

Lovely waterfall with ancient mills on the way to it. Small parking place directly near the main road, 10 min. walk.

Easy to climb, short walk. Very limited parking space. Great toulets on the way. Cute waterfall itself.

Beautiful waterfall just a short hike from the road. We did a 4.something km loop hike from the small parking to Plötz waterfall, Watzmannblick viewpoint and back to the parking. Not the easiest hike if you aren't used to the elevation, but doable and the views make it very much worth it. If you're not used to elevation and some fairly steep in-/declines, consider using a (pair of) hiking pole(s)...

Just a 25 minute drive from the city of Salzburg, Austria - this small waterfall has a few parking spaces at the bottom right off the highway, it’s a 15 minute up a hill and there are a few water mills to explore along the way. The waterfall is isolated & is very peaceful. Go and enjoy your time.
Summer offers cool, clear water for paddling. In spring, the stream runs faster—watch footing. Autumn leaves can make the trail slippery. In winter the path may be icy and is not recommended.
