What makes it 62% Kids-Friendly: School-age children enter on a cheap family ticket and may enjoy the bright cosmoramas, yet the museum lacks hands-on stations or play zones, so attention may fade after 30 minutes.
This place may be temporarily closed. Please check official sources before visiting.

Free with Salzburg pass, it is worth a quick look if you have the time. The main feature is the actual panorama which does have a lot of details. Was interesting to compare with the view from the castle to see what had changed. The paintings displayed were interesting because of the differences in style as much as what they displayed.

Small but beautiful local history museum that showcases alongside the brilliant panorama several smaller pictures of Salzburg in the 19th and early 20th century with a great storyline explaining in detail what is on display. It's good for a solid half hour and enjoyable even more because it's not crowded, at the time of my visit I was all alone

A short visit that I only decided to do because of the heat outside turned out very well. Entrance for jugend was 2euros and for this you get some nice background information on how Salzburg looked through the years. After that you're treated to a stunning panorama painting of the whole city seen from the fortress hohensalzburg. I very much giving this place a short look especially if you happen t...

Beautiful museum that discusses the history of bathing and swimming pools in Europe, but the coolest exhibit is that of Hubert Sattler, who created Cosmoramas around the world and also painted a Panorama of Salzburg which is truly a must-see! It is covered by the Salzburg Card, which is another plus!

We found it very interesting. In particular, the photos by Sattler were amazing. He really painted so many diverse locations. The colors and light were very expressive.
In summer, combine your visit with a stroll through the blooming Mirabell Gardens next door. In winter, the heated Orangery provides a warm indoor break for kids. Check for special holiday closures around Christmas.
