What makes it 70% Kids-Friendly: Kids can race slot cars, dance to jukebox hits, and hunt for lobby parrots, but no playground or STEM workshop exists, so engagement drops after 1–2 hours of supervised viewing.
Why 22 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: This gives enough time for kids to try the racetrack and jukebox while adults explore the car and music exhibits without rushing.
Drive the Carrera slot racetrack:
Kids can steer model cars on the track under staff supervision.
Tip: Ask at the desk for demo days when staff guide the activity.
Dance to tunes at the jukebox:
Children choose 1960s hits and dance between the classic cars.
Tip: The volume is fun, not quiet. Let kids pick their favorite song.
Meet the lobby parrots:
Spot and name the colorful live parrots near the entrance.
Tip: They are friendly—approach slowly and enjoy their calls.
Explore the children’s reading corner:
Browse illustrated books on cars and musical instruments.
Tip: Settle here for a quiet moment and let kids share stories.
Play vintage instruments:
Strum electric guitars or try the Hammond organ on the mini stage.
Tip: Touch is encouraged—ask staff if you need assistance.

Nice place with many different cars, and music players, recommended to visit.

What a fantastic museum. A wonderful assortment of vehicles, but what makes this museum different is the juke boxes, and musical instruments and the wonderfully helpful lady who gave me a few tips. Will definitely call again when in the Salzburg area. Do you let the parrots out of the cage !

Museum worth visiting, cool collection of cars, motorcycles and non-petrolhead items. Look carefully, a lot of interesting items can be seen including historical photos, so take your time.

Very nicely maintained museum, with a great collection. Had a great conversation with the friendly museum owner.

a beautiful experience with an astonishing collection of not only rare classics but also old jukeboxes, pickups, banners, badges, model cars, books and magazines. A truly incredible line up of well loved cars
The museum is fully indoors and open year-round. In summer, ask about special weekend Carrera race events. In winter, enjoy the cozy fireplace lounge.
