What makes it 76% Kids-Friendly: School-age children can splash in the Platzl fountain and hunt guild signs on the wide pedestrian zone, yet there is no playground and few public toilets, so parents must plan breaks ahead.
Why 1.5-2.5 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for fountain play, a stroll, ice-cream break and a quick historic stop without rushing.
Splash at the Platzl fountain:
Let kids run through ground-level water jets in the centre of Platzl square.
Tip: Bring light shoes and a change of clothes for after the splash.
Ice-cream at Eis-Greissler:
Choose from colorful, child-friendly flavors like strawberry and pumpkin-seed.
Tip: Order large portions to share between kids and adults.
Stroll along Linzer Gasse:
Walk the pedestrian-only street to admire painted guild signs and historic facades.
Tip: Point out the small plaques and signs to keep kids engaged.
Visit St. Sebastian’s Cemetery:
Walk the flat paths past Baroque arcades and graves of Mozart’s family.
Tip: Older kids can look for famous names; watch for uneven stones.

We walked through this are to/from our Hotel. It is a terrific, pedestrian only street. It has plenty of terrific shops and restaurants - with beautiful heritage buildings everywhere. It does get pretty crowded throughout the day, but that only adds to the charm of the area.
