Quiet cemetery of which the lay-out was used to model the studio cemetery in the movie Sound of Music

Very beautiful cemetery and I definitely recommend visiting if you're in Salzburg! It's free to enter. Taking pictures and just strolling is fine as long as we're respectful. You can find it just by following google maps directions. P.S. don't forget to check out the catacombs which is here also. You have to pay €2 to enter but I think it is worth it. A peaceful and beautiful cemetery. We enjoyed the calm atmosphere and admiring the differences between this and cemeteries in the US, and appreciated how this felt more like a celebration of life and reunion of families after death. The area was very well maintained and not too crowded.
