Very nice Abbey. It’s a great place to take a stroll and look at the cemetery which is uniquely designed. The movie The Sound of Music scene setting was inspired by this abbey, where the Von Trappe family hide so that they can escape. It is worth the visit.

The cemetery is beautiful, gorgeous, well kept, and full of history! I have never seen grave sites like this! The way families take care of these sites is truly special. We did pay to see the catacombs, though I would say that isn’t necessary.

The whole area was beautiful. I think I read that the interior of the church is Roccoco style - it was very dark in there. The surrounding of the cemetery and catacomb area offers really picturesque views. Very historic church that was interesting to research !
Summer mornings offer fewer visitors in the cemetery; winter brings candlelit services and a serene atmosphere.
