What makes it 62% Baby-Friendly: Paved loop and low-floor bus welcome strollers, but there is no nursing room or fixed changing table, and windy summit weather can unsettle infants.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to reach the viewpoint, take breaks at the playground and café, and enjoy the scenery without rushing.
Gaisbergrundwanderweg loop:
Follow the paved, barrier-free trail from Zistelalm to the small summit platform and back.
Tip: Use a stroller or carrier on the smooth path and stop at benches for rests.
Play at Zistelalm playground:
Let your baby explore the flat wooden play area next to the inn.
Tip: Plan a 15–20 minute break here for safe crawling or walking practice.
Terrace break at Goasn Wirtshaus:
Relax under a covered area with pram space and order coffee and cake.
Tip: Call ahead to reserve a table when visiting on weekends.
Bus 151 ride:
Take the low-floor Gaisbergbus from Mirabellplatz to Zistelalm.
Tip: Buy tickets in advance and note the bus runs every 90 minutes; bring light luggage.
Refill water and use toilets:
Use free water taps at Zistelalm and the summit. Public toilets are at Goasn Alm.
Tip: Bring a portable changing mat; there is no fixed diaper table.

This is one of the most inspiring places I have ever visited in Austria. Bring your coffee or tea and just enjoy the moment. ☀️

Fun ride to the top and beautiful views. If you’re coming for the sunset be prepared to get blinded by the sun in the last turn. Parking is free.

Very beautiful place. It was very cloudy when I went up there but I assume the view nust be beautiful on a clear day.

The ride up the mountain by car is quite adventurous but the view is so worth it, especially on a clear day. Lovely view over the mountains and Salzburg

It's a nice place with a great view of the city of Salzburg. The sky gliders and parachutes are also amazing to see. Access there is quite easy. There is a public buse (151) that go right to the top from the city center. It's a good spot for camping as well. Also for a family or friends outdoor activities
From May to October the trail and bus run daily. In winter check for road closures due to snow and limited bus service.
