Children are allowed, lift fits prams, staff are friendly, but artworks are fragile, no hands-on exhibits or play area, so kids under 12 may tire quickly and need close supervision.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for a guided tour, self-paced art viewing, and a snack break at the Tea House without rushing kids.
Self-Guided Gallery Tour:
Explore four floors of 21st-century Chinese art at your own pace.
Tip: Pick up a floor plan at reception or ask staff for kid-friendly highlights.
Public Guided Tour:
Join the free 11 AM or 3 PM tour Wednesday–Sunday to hear stories behind the artworks.
Tip: Arrive at least 5 minutes early to secure six spots for your family.
Tea House Snack Break:
Taste Chinese tea, dumplings or scones in the street-level café.
Tip: Order the lychee iced tea in summer and warm scones for kids.
Cloakroom & Lift Access:
Store prams or bulky bags free in reception lockers.
Tip: Use the lift to move between floors with strollers.
Browse the Gift Shop:
Find art books, prints and colourful souvenirs.
Tip: Set a small budget and look for kid-friendly art prints.

Great little gallery with some fun and quirky exhibits. We visited with our kids and all enjoyed it. 3 levels but not too big, around an hour was perfect for us. Would come back again

Fantastic gallery! Do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s free as well! Also, the gift shop is really well curated, not your typical museum gift shop junk.

Brilliant as always but this current exhibition is my favourite! They’ve done a great job with the colours, the flow, even the archways between each room. Loved it. I always recommend White Rabbit when people visit from out of town. Sydney is lucky to have such a brilliant gallery right in the centre of town. Fabulous

The food has a limited range, with unique teas and a small range of dumplings. The gallery itself changes with items, so the photos I have provided may not be the same if you were to go there. The artworks there are usually...
