How Baby-Friendly is Sydney Fish Market?

The market offers ramps, pram-wide aisles, high chairs, and baby-change rooms for a short stroll and meal; tours ban prams and loud noise may distress infants, so plan a brief daytime visit.

Considerations for visiting Sydney Fish Market (with baby)

Positives:

  • Stroller access: Wide ramps and aisles make moving around with a pram easy.
  • Baby facilities: Baby-change tables and parents rooms available at no extra cost.

Challenges:

  • Weekend crowds: The market gets busy on weekends, which can make navigating with a stroller harder.
  • Strong smells: Fish stalls can emit strong odors that may upset sensitive babies.

Recommended visit duration: 1-2 hours

Why 1-2 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to browse stalls, eat casually, and use baby facilities without rushing.

This is the best one stop sea food centre of Sydney with ample choices of fresh and cooked seafood variety. Although the prices are slightly higher than some other fish shops in western Sydney, the range and variety is massive specially prawns , crabs, oyters and lobsters. Very vibrant and lots of eateries. Its a must visit place

The vibrant atmosphere, waterfront views, and variety of food stalls make it a must-visit. Great spot for both quick bites and relaxed meals. Don’t miss the seafood platters and sushi bar — absolutely worth it! However, they should actually improve th...

It's my first time in Sydney as well as in this market. Compared to Singapore's wet market, the fish are very neatly arranged and fresh looking. The food were delicious and inexpensive for seafood.

Located at Cnr Pyrmont Bridge Road & Bank Street, Pyrmont, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 These markets have been around for decades so obviously they are a lot dated. There’s a huge selection of seafood 🍤 🐟🐠 to choose from, both cooked and uncooked. Everything on offer is incredibly fresh. There’s plenty of tables to sit and eat your purchase. Be warned, if you sit outside, the birds can be a...
