Paved paths suit strollers and shady lawns allow feeds, but public toilets may lack change tables and no nursing room exists, so parents might need nearby malls for changing or quiet indoor breaks.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for stroller-friendly walks, a shaded picnic, quick fountain play and rest breaks with a baby.
Stroll under Hill’s Weeping Figs:
Walk the wide, paved path from St James Road to the ANZAC Memorial under shady fig trees.
Tip: Follow the north–south promenade to avoid uneven ground and keep the pram on banked edges.
Shaded picnic by Sandringham Garden:
Choose a spot under mature trees for baby nap or feeding.
Tip: Bring a lightweight blanket and pack pre-cut snacks to save time.
Archibald Fountain edge play:
Let your baby paddle at the fountain’s shallow edge or watch water jets.
Tip: Pack a change of clothes and quick-dry towel in a small bag.
Short monuments walk:
Visit nearby bronze Captain Cook statue and Egyptian-style Obelisk on level paths.
Tip: Use park signage to keep the route under 1 km and avoid long detours.
Use public toilets with baby-change:
Locate blocks near Museum Station or Park Street.
Tip: Check City of Sydney website for newest change-table locations before you go.

It's a good walking area, pet friendly, I would recommend you to go around in the evening. Nearby places - Australian museum, Saint cathedral Church. There is a connecting train station from here - Museum - train station name. The park is divided into 2 parts, half part has a pool of reflection and Anzac memorial. And on the other side you'll find the Archibald memorial fountain.

Hyde Park is a historical and very famous wide open space located in the CBD of Sydney. This park is very comfortable to walk around, see various tourist attractions, or just sit back, relax and enjoying your moments. I saw tourists preserving their moments by taking pictures at the Anzac War Memorial, Archibald Fountain, Frazer Fountain, and many other monuments and statues. There were also peop...

Green Oasis in the City – Hyde Park, Sydney Hyde Park holds a special place in my heart. It was right in front of my college, so I visited it very often — between classes, after lectures, or just to unwind. Located right in the heart of Sydney, this park offers a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. It’s the perfect spot to relax, have a casual chat with friends, or even enjoy some...

Situated in the heart of Sydney, the most underrated public park. I would say the most practical park for students & workers. We sometimes go there & take rest in our long shifts & classes. The best way to feel the nature even in the man created city.

Hyde Park is like a peaceful green hug right in the middle of the city! It’s perfect for slow walks, picnics, or just sitting on a bench under the trees and watching the world go by. The pathways are wide, the fountains are pretty, and there’s always something happening—from buskers to flower blooms. Loved walking past St Mary’s Cathedral and soaking in the historic vibes. Super chill spot for a ...
