How Baby-Friendly is Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple?

Pram-friendly paths, ramps, lifts and a free parents room make entry manageable with an infant, but long quiet chanting sessions, no high chairs and no stroller hire reduce convenience for new parents.

Considerations for visiting Fo Guang Shan Nan Tien Temple (with baby)

Positives:

  • Easy Accessibility: All paths, buildings and prayer halls are level or ramped for strollers.
  • Quiet Rest Areas: Benches by ponds and under trees offer peaceful spots for feeding or naps.

Challenges:

  • No Stroller Hire: Bring a lightweight stroller or baby carrier; rentals are not available on site.
  • Limited Baby Seating: Dining hall lacks high chairs; plan to feed baby on your lap or in stroller.

Recommended visit duration: 2-3 hours

Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time for gentle garden walks, a visit to the Parents Room, and a quiet break by the koi ponds without rushing with a baby.

Look up the dress code if you want to enter the temple. Long pants n long dress. Amazing experience to see the architecture and learn about the culture. Beautiful and well kept with a serene environment. Friendly staff but be sure to follow the rules about when and where to take photos/videos. The Buddhist posters with all the quotes on life and philosophy are wonderfully inspiring. Just over t...
