Children gain a patrolled swimming area, fenced Grant Reserve playground and grassy BBQ lawns, yet parents must supervise constantly because rips appear and no staffed kids club exists.
Why 3-4 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Enough time to play in the playground, swim in the ocean pools and enjoy a picnic without rushing.
Grant Reserve Playground:
Let kids climb, slide and swing on the wooden play structure.
Tip: Bring a change of clothes and supervise younger children on the climbing web.
Wylie’s Baths:
Swim in the shallow, ocean-fed pool.
Tip: Use the change rooms and grab a snack at the kiosk.
Coogee Pavilion Play Zone:
Order a pizza, then let kids play table tennis, giant Scrabble and colouring indoors.
Tip: Kids play free once you’ve ordered food.
Goldstein Reserve Picnic:
Spread out on the lawn, fly kites or play ball games.
Tip: Use the free barbecues and nearby toilets.

Coogee Beach is the easy crowd-pleaser of the eastern suburbs, big enough to feel lively yet sheltered enough that the water often stays friendlier than its neighbours. The bay curves in a neat arc of pale sand with cliffs at each end, and the headlands give just enough protection for long, buoyant swims between the flags. On calm mornings the water can be startlingly clear, and you will see schoo...

Great atmosphere. Love that beach volleyball games are going on most of the time. Everyone here seems happy and it makes the entire area very pleasant to be in. Visited in winter, but would love to be here in summer!

This beach is beautiful. I was here in the off season so it was quiet but the sun was bright and the water was stunningly clear. 100% must see. And all of the cafes/restaurants nearby are lovely. A great place also to find shells and sea glass.

Beautiful beach full with visitors and surfers. This beach is particularly lively over weekend. Nice place to chill out, and this is also a good starting point to walk to Bondi Beach

Coogee Beach – A Relaxing Coastal Gem in Sydney If you’re looking for a beautiful, laid-back beach that’s not overly crowded like Bondi, Coogee Beach is the perfect spot. I visited on a sunny afternoon and instantly fell in love with the calm atmosphere, clean sand, and crystal-clear water. There’s a nice coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee that offers stunning ocean views — definitely worth doing...
