10/10 hostel. All the amenities needed. GOKI app to unlock door / room locker and bathroom (remember to take your phone to the bathroom with you!). Such a great hostel. Friendly staff, an incredible layout, and a very convenient kitchen — and it’s actually clean. The dorms are super nice as well. On top of that, they’re excellent at answering any questions you might have — just have a chat with them and they’re more than happy to help.

I only stayed at Halse Lodge one night but I absolutely loved it! The dorm, bathroom, kitchen, etc. were all so clean. Having free laundry is a game changer especially after camping in K’gari. The staff were really nice and let me shower after checking out. I appreciated having curtains and free towels. Loved the hostel, rooms are newley renovated, beds are sturdy and come with a curtain. Loved the balcony as a common area. Late check-in + luggage storage after my check-out was no problem at all. Bar/ restaurant beneath it was nice, not just tourists around, locals mixed it. Quick walk into the city center, good bus connection, but hostel is on a hill so last few meters are quite steep.
