How Baby-Friendly is Yanchep National Park?

What makes it 76% Baby-Friendly: Pram-friendly loops, baby-change toilet and visitor centre seating suit infants, but uneven bush areas, steps in caves and lack of dedicated nursing rooms limit how long parents can stay.

Positives:

  • Pram Access: Most paths are sealed and flat for smooth stroller movement.
  • Baby Facilities: Changing tables at Koala Boardwalk amenities and indoor seating at Visitor Centre.
  • Wildlife Close-Up: Koalas rest just meters from the boardwalk, safe for curious little ones.

Challenges:

  • No Dedicated Nursing Room: Use a quiet bench or your car for privacy when feeding.
  • Heat Exposure: Limited shade between spots in peak summer; plan breaks under shelters.
  • Distance Between Sites: Walking between trail, boardwalk and picnic area can be tiring with a baby.

Beautiful place away from the city and worth a visit. There are a few caves you could enter for a tour here. You need to get a ticket at the visitor center and the tour intervals are one hour apart. We saw some wild kangaroos and lots of cockatoos.

Yanchep National Park is such a beautiful place to spend the day. The trails are really nice and give you that fresh forest feeling as you walk through the trees. Inside the park there is also a restaurant which makes it easy to stop for a meal or a coffee without leaving the place. The best part for me was being around the kangaroos. They are very friendly and you can see them up close just rela...

One of the must-visit places in Yanchep. It’s a great place to visit as it has many things to see. There are plenty of attractions to try, such as Treetops Adventure Yanchep and Yanchep Crystal Cave tour, but you do have to pay separate fees to experience them. But this park is still a lovely place to visit. You get to see the koalas, although they were asleep when we went there. There are also pl...

Such a nice, well maintained place to visit. An abundance of wildlife whether it be the chilled out kangaroos, birdlife in abundance , Or sleepy koalas. The trails are an easy walk , great photo opportunities , fungi , flora, fauna it has it all. Then relax for lunch and a beer , the food was delicious and although busy it was quick service and a minimal wait and the ring neck parrots will stop by...

Our itinerary landed us here on Mother’s Day, and it felt like much of the population of Perth had decided this was the place to celebrate. With lots of options — Koala Walk, zip line, Aboriginal Experience, Crystal Cave, trails through the eucalyptus forests — we headed to the Koala Walk. We spotted 4 of the 5 koalas napping high in the trees. So cool! The little lake behind the inn is lovely, so...
