What makes it 72% Baby-Friendly: Babies enter free, prams roll through ramps, change tables and high chairs exist; however, the loud furnace roar and one-hour standing tour may unsettle infants and limit parental comfort.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Allows time for the Gold Tour, exhibit walk and a café break at a relaxed pace with a baby.
Self-Guided Exhibition Walk:
Roam the historic building to view gold-history displays and peek into the bullion trading room.
Tip: Use ramps and wide walkways to push your pram through the exhibits. Start at the main hall to avoid crowds.
The Perth Mint Gold Tour:
Join a 60-minute guided tour featuring a live gold pour and the world’s largest bullion coin.
Tip: Babies ride free. Bring ear protection for your little one before the gold pour near the furnace.
Mint Your Own Medallion:
Strike a keepsake medallion using the heritage press after your tour.
Tip: Each adult ticket includes a $2 credit. Hold your baby at a safe distance to watch the press.
Pram-Friendly Café Break:
Relax at the Mint Café with high chairs and free hot water for bottles.
Tip: Use the high chairs for feeding. The café is next to baby-change facilities in the public toilets.

I came here to pick up my gold ⚱️I didn’t expect it to be this pretty! The place is beautiful and full of history. I love how the gold bars have the kangaroo design on them, it’s so cute and uniquely Australian!! 🦘😍 The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely keep ordering my gold here! ✨

The tour was fantastic, seeing Sophie pouring molten gold to form an ingot was something I'll remember for a long time. among the other highlights was the giant 1 tonne $,1000,000 gold coin, with a current value of $214,000 000, and the chance to lift a 2.4 kilo gold bar if you're in Perth a tour of the mint truly is a must

A very informative and interesting place to visit. We did the mint tour, shout out to our guides Nicole and Dakota, they were very knowledgeable, professional and engaging. We loved the interactive activities but the highlight was definitely the 1 tonne coin. Worth a visit.

The tour is really cool, filled with lots of interesting tidbits. The highlight of course being the live gold pour! You get to take home a medallion that you can see being minted. David the tour guide was great. The 9.30 am tour size is smaller.

Wow so much gold. The tour was fantastic, our hosts were excellent and funny. Worth a visit if going to Perth. Best to book tour before going.
In December, book the coin-designing workshop early; on Fridays & Saturdays 10 am–2 pm get a free Gold Santa photo with your baby. Check dates before visiting.
