Would have been 5 stars HOWEVER it was a very rude shock to find that the drinks vending machine that advertised 600ml drinks as being $5 has actually also charged me a $3 service fee PER DRINK. Drinks should be advertised as $8 if it's going to cost me $8. Outrageous vending machine charge aside, we had an absolutely wonderful day at the perth zoo. There is way too much glass/perspex. This stuff...

We had a great day out at the Perth Zoo. It is very family friendly and pram friendly, however there are some uneven surfaces. The animals all looked well cared for and happy, a lot of them were active (or visible) when we were there which was really nice. We spoke to a zoo keeper who was very knowledgeable and only happy to answer any questions.

Perth Zoo is a tropical oasis filled with animals from around the globe. It, in my opinion represents a fantastic day out for the family. The facilities are second to none. Take a picnic and make a day of it. Or buy your food there. This does add to the budget spend. There is plenty to do and see. Do your homework and roll up for daily activities at allotted time points. Enjoy.

It is a great place especially for young children. Big and spacious all around. Huge grasslands for them to run around to expend their energy. One of the best zoos in the world. I am from Singapore and I am truly loving it! It's well organized and it's easy to locate where we are from the map. The animals are well taken care of and beautiful. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The plants and trees are amazing! I bought some souvenirs from the gift shops too! Highly recommended!
In summer, arrive before 10 am to see active animals and join evening Zoocoustics jazz events. In winter, focus on midday visits when animals roam more in cooler weather.
