What makes it 75% Baby-Friendly: Babies benefit from pram-friendly paths, shady grass and public change tables, yet there is no separate nursing room and weekend crowds or skate noise may disturb naps.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Gives time for a stroller walk, playground play, and a café break without rushing.
Toddler swings and play structure:
The playground features a baby-sized swing and a high-back infant swing.
Tip: Visit in the morning for cooler shade under the trees.
Stroller-friendly waterfront paths:
Flat, paved granite paths run beneath Norfolk Island Pines.
Tip: Push the pram slowly to help your baby nap to the sound of the river.
Baby-change facilities and water fountains:
Accessible toilets have fold-down change tables and bottle-fill stations.
Tip: Bring diapers and refill bottles before returning to play.
Picnic under shaded lawns:
Spread a rug on the grass under mature pines for feed or snack time.
Tip: Pack a sunshade and lightweight blanket for comfort.
Brunch at The Bistrot:
Outdoor seating offers high chairs and views of the park.
Tip: Request a high chair when you arrive and choose a corner table.

Fremantle is one of my favourite places and the Esplanade Park is always a great place to vist for either a festival, a picnic, or just a wander while you collect your thoughts.

Situated next to the harbour waterfront, this is a great park that is perfect for a picnic. There is plenty of shade, a playground, a skate park and even a large Ferris wheel. It really is a great park to have a walk through and to catch up with friends.

Passed through a few times via foot on a Sunday and then Thursday.. it feels spacious and fun for a park 🌲🌲 these trees can also help protect passers-by and parked cars from strong sea winds 🌊 especially if you just want to have a picnic or chill out by the grass with friends or family 😍 There are washrooms and drinking water taps available too 👍🏻 perhaps just need some shelters along pathwa...

What a lovely park! Grass is lush and the trees are tall and provide a lovely shade from the hot sun! Heaps of people enjoying picnics and a stroll. There is a ferris wheel and many restaurants and bars about to meet your needs.
In summer, visit before 10 am or after 4 pm to avoid heat. In winter, bring a warm blanket for your baby on shaded lawns.
