Best Western Melbourne City (couple trip)

We have stayed here several times over the past few years and have always been very happy with the hotel. Just be aware that the shower access in the shoebox rooms would not work for a larger person. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is excellent. The in house cafe/bar is great for a drink or a meal.

Did not get a friendly vibe from the staff, especially at check-in. Hallways look decades old with ripped carpet. Huge indoor construction area right outside rooms. Courtyard rooms are too small. No chair, lack of power points, nowhere to put clothes or even luggage. Courtyards are beyond drab with little privacy from neighbouring rooms. Blinding floodlights in cortyards that can't be turned off. ...

Recommend the King room. A good size room overlooking Spencer St. Ultra clean and comfortable, surprisingly quiet at night (I suspect double glazed windows). The ONLY thing I would have added was a microwave but otherwise perfect. Staff friendly and accommodating.

This hotel I found to be ideal as a traveller as its good value for money and clean and tidy. Its close to southern Cross station which makes it ideal for getting around on trains, trams and buses. The SKYBUS to and from the airport takes just 35 minutes and the hotel is easy walking distance. There is also lot of eateries around making for handy meals when you are busy like me.
