The national park has barbecues with gas supplied at the bottom in the picnic area, right next to a great cafe and is walkable from Upper Ferntree Gully station. There are many trail to walk there, including the 1000 steps and history all along the walk about the relationship between the trails and the WWII history we wish to remember. It’s well worth a visit and I recommend it!

Stunning place to explore with some very challenging hills. Plenty of trails to explore and take many different routes to see lots of wildlife and some 500 year old trees. The views are amazing but can be challenging to get to. Public amenities are limited, not many restaurants or water stops, and few picnic areas. Lots of parking in many different places though.
