Infants enter free and multiple parents’ rooms, pram-cloaking and flat promenades help carers. Crowds, heat and lap-only seating inside arenas can tire babies and limit comfort.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with baby: Enough time to explore main courts, enjoy baby zones, and watch a match without rushing.
AO Ballpark Play Zone:
Inflatables, waterslides, Totem Tennis and live shows for young children.
Tip: Visit early to avoid lines; use adjacent pram parking.
Rod Laver Arena Match:
Watch top players under the retractable roof.
Tip: Choose a midday session to stay cool indoors with your baby.
Nursing & Change Rooms:
Quiet private rooms at each main arena.
Tip: Locate rooms near Doors 3 (Rod Laver) or Doors 6/19 (Margaret Court) on arrival.
Open Lawns & Promenades:
Wide, flat paths with live big screens around Melbourne Park.
Tip: Stroll with your pram and catch match highlights from outside courts.

This wasn't just a tennis tournament; it was a bloody spectacle. A full-blown, two-week-long party where the dress code was "sunscreen and enthusiasm." The atmosphere? Electric. Like sticking a fork in a live wire, but in a good way. The roar of the crowd, the thwack of the ball, the sheer energy of the place... it was intoxicating. Whilst the main event is always watching the players on these blue courts at the Australian Open, there's so much else going on around the entire Melbourne Park grounds too during the Open, as you can see from the pics I'm sharing from the event this year. It's an absolutely amazing event, done well.

Australian Open in Melbourne Olympic Park best time and place of excitement to watch the match of your favourite tennis player. Good public transport, very close to City areas, plenty of food to enjoy and drinks. Highly recommended for any event. It’s a great place to visit.

Fantastic experience at the Australian Open for 2025... excellent management, impeccable organization and a nice atmosphere to spend an afternoon with friends. High prices as normal for events like this but you don't go there every day so it's acceptable in the end. Unusually, I found the prices for live matches fair, when I thought they would cost more, excellent inspiration for the future ✌️

Amazing place to watch tennis, great atmosphere. The price of food & drinks at centre exorbitant, as expected. They open all cans at the bar before leaving and wont give you a tray so make sure you have help if ordering more than a few. Tip, you can take your own drink or food in a small bag but expect bag checks.
