I had a wonderful stay here. The staff were amazing and the location is beautiful. It’s kept very clean and there is a cute bar and cafe in the hostel. If you are after a really unique experience, I definitely recommend staying here when in Mission Beach.

Our stay at Jackaroo Hostel was deeply disappointing, not because of the cyclone and flash flooding around Mission Beach, but because of how the hostel chose to handle the situation. A cyclone was forecast and unfolding during our stay, significantly affecting transport and safety in the area. Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. I was only intending to stay a night but ended up staying longer. The Treehouse has a great bar and cafe and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. The location is beautiful and I was even lucky enough to see a cassowary and its baby. If you’re heading to Mission Beach, this is definitely the place to stay.

My friends asked why I wasn’t staying on the beach. Why? When you can stay in the rainforest treetops. The rooms are spotless, same for the pool and it has the best kept camp kitchen. Just spent 2 nights in this hostel and can really recommend it! They do a bike hire as well for you to get around. Saw some wallabies and cassowarys there and ate really good food in the café. The atmosphere is amazing, you just want to stay there all day, they have a nice reading corner with a view of the rainforest. The owner was really nice also. Everything was easy and awesome!
