It's actually quite nice to go for a walk here when you have nothing else to do which is quite often when you live in Townsville. Art exhibits come here and they're beautiful displays, I walked down feeling like an art critic even though I have zero experience. Swim is not too bad as well, I find that the water is often colder than the weather

This strip along Townsvilles foreshore is a vibrant place with lots of eateries and at one end a rockpool for swimming (with no nasties in it)...there's plenty of parking and a pedestrian/walking concrete path..you can see out to Magnetic Island and over to the port/harbour

The strand is great for a stroll on the board walk. The scenery was beautiful. There was quite a number of people in the late afternoon, however it didn't feel at all congested. We were fortunate enough to visit while there were art exhibits, which was a bonus interest.

We went for a bike ride along the foreshore from one end right to the marina and ferry port. The strand was the busiest point along the foreshore. The rock pool is now open and they have part of the beach netted off and patrolled so it is safe to swim there. People sat under the trees relaxing in the cooling breeze. Plenty of coffee stops and cafes. Nice spot.
