What makes it 74% Kids-Friendly: Children enjoy short pram-wide trail, shallow entry pools, open lawns and free BBQs, yet parents must supervise constantly because rocks are slippery, pools get deep fast, and no lifeguard is present.
Why 2-3 hours visit duration is ideal for with kids: Allows time for the walk, swimming stops, a picnic, and wildlife spotting without rushing young children.
Rainforest walk to shallow pools:
Follow the 1.2 km paved path through rainforest to reach shallow rock pools near the first cascade.
Tip: Let kids splash in the shallow pools at the start before venturing deeper; bring water shoes for added grip.
Rock slide and jump spots:
Slide down smooth granite rocks and jump into gentle rapids under adult supervision.
Tip: Scout for flat, moss-free rock surfaces and test water depth with a stick before letting children jump.
Picnic at barbecue shelters:
Use covered picnic tables and electric BBQs by the car park for family meals.
Tip: Arrive early to grab a sheltered spot; pack reusable plates and seal food to keep out ants.
Wildlife explorer trail:
Look for rainforest birds, tree frogs, and butterflies along the creek banks.
Tip: Bring a small magnifying glass and walk quietly to spot shy wildlife.
Family-friendly canyoning tour:
Join an Explorer nature & waterfall tour with guided swims, light abseils, and safe rock slides.
Tip: Book in advance and confirm your younger child meets the age minimum of 8; wear a wetsuit for warmth.

Beautiful scenery on the drive to this spot, plenty of car parks and a clean well maintained toilet block. Wide shady path took us approx 15 mins to walk one way. Very easy walk, with slight incline halfway. We went on a Saturday morning at 9ish and we were the only ones there. There are a staircases along the way where you can go down in spots. At the very end there is a platform and staircase...

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, with a concrete 1.2km track (one way) to the Cascades lookout. Easy wheelchair access for most of the path, if not all, depending on fitness. It gets a bit steeper in the latter section. Plenty of spots to swim along the way, these not so accessible. Please swim where indicated and adhere to the signs. I'm local and go often. It's perfectly safe IF you follow t...

Beautiful spot. You do have to walk uphill a bit, but in my opinion, it’s quite an easy walk. And we saw so many turtles in the water 🐢.

Been in the region for years, but sometimes you just have to stop and appreciate what’s in your own backyard. Lovely 1.2 klm walk each way to the viewing platform. Slight incline; wheelchair friendly the whole way. Stayed strong and didn’t indulge at the ice cream van. Not sure of the hours but was there on a Saturday afternoon in October.

Beautiful rainforest water holes Safe as to swim Plenty of places to venture and pick a spot to yourselves. Plenty of picnic areas. Toilets in car park and are very modern + change rooms. Plenty of parking.
Visit between May and October when trails are dry and water levels are stable. In the wet season (Nov–Apr) check conditions after heavy rain, as tracks can be slippery and pools may swell.
